New Name – New Venue – New Season
Saint Martha Concerts is now “Martha/Mary Concerts” – celebrating our new venue and expanded programs at the art-filled Spanish Baroque La Merced Chapel and adjacent historic Corpus Christi Church, conveniently located in “West Wynwood,” our new Allapattah location.

We still present “world class music at movie ticket prices – and the popcorn (after concert reception) is free.” We still promise that we are “determinedly not religious, but inevitably spiritual.” We continue the tradition that no one is ever turned away from a season concert for inability to pay, and we actively partner with schools and groups to keep our audience reflective of all our South Florida community.

Our new venues allow us to have both large concerts in Corpus Christi Church, and intimate concerts in La Merced. Two special Saturday events (the “Salon Series”) enable artists and audiences – seated at tables with champagne and dessert – to interact informally – surrounded by a major art collection not regularly available to the general public. The shared site enables all of our after-concert receptions to be based at La Merced Chapel, and special programs to be presented during the year with our partners Corpus Christi Church and Colonial Florida Cultural Heritage Center.

Partnering with Colonial Florida and the Barry University Music Department, we are expanding our work with students. Art will be displayed in just-renovated exhibit space at Corpus Christi Church. Students will have field trips to the La Merced collection. Our popular StarBurst Concert will be presented again in May. Community groups may arrange tours of La Merced and group seating at our concerts.

Tickets will once again be available on site, all season – at the Corpus Christi parish office – another facet of the intimate, sharing community that is possible when we both live and work together on everything from enhanced lighting and acoustics in the church to new comfort-conscious seating in the Chapel. Volunteers from all of the partners in this endeavor are working hard like Martha-of-Bethany to bring you the Mary-of-Bethany spirit, a community speaking the universal language of beautiful music.
