These “Maine Treasures” are joined by Miami’s Paul Posnak to explore Beethoven’s nascent iconoclasm in “Quartet in A Major,” Brahms’ supercharged romanticism in “Piano Quartet in F Minor,” and the newly rediscovered “Five Folksongs in Counterpoint” by mid-20th century African American composer Florence Price.

Felices Fiestas! Holiday Concert

Cuban-American drummer/bandleader Dafnis Prieto is the 2019 Grammy® winner for Best Latin Jazz album. His holiday gift to us is the best in Latin Jazz, con su conjunto. The Church will be specially decorated, the reception will feature our traditional kosher Christmas cookies, and caroling will appear when least expected. This is not a traditional holiday event – but it may be your favorite.

Shelly Berg’s list of honors is near endless. Martin Bejerano has his own honors and is featured on the rosters of “hot young pianists.” From divergent backgrounds, they are now together at UM’s Frost School of Music (Dean, Jazz Piano) and give us an early Valentine, playing as the spirit moves them.

The Queen’s Six
From Windsor Castle to West Wynwood

The Queen’s Six journey from their homes inside Windsor Castle to perform a cappella King Henry VIII songs, Renaissance polyphony, madrigals, folk songs, jazz and pop. If you didn’t hear them at Prince Harry and Megan Markle’s wedding, you can have your own “private performance” to savor their renowned melodic sense and balance of voices.
