Our Mission
Martha/Mary Concerts brings world class music at movie ticket prices, to all of the diverse population of South Florida. Speaking the universal language of beautiful music, artists and audiences find the spirit of community with friends old and newly discovered; with persons of all ages, cultural, social and economic backgrounds. All are welcome and sought out.

Who We Are
Martha/Mary Concerts is a volunteer-run, community organization dedicated to the fulfillment of our Mission through the highest level of music of many genres, with the best of local, national and international talent. Over two decades we have built a community finding the Spirit with music afficionados and neophytes, artists and audiences speaking together the universal language of beautiful music.

In our centrally located multiple venues on the campus of Corpus Christi Church in West Wynwood/East Allapattah, we continue:

  • The tradition that no one is ever turned away from a season concert for inability to pay
  • Our promise that we are “determinedly not religious, but inevitably spiritual”
  • Our active partnerships with schools and community groups, ensuring that our audience is reflective of all of our South Florida community
  • After-concert receptions so our audiences can meet new members of our Martha/Mary community and our concert artists
  • After-concert exhibits of student art inspired by the concerts, in partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the Parent Academy and the Foundation for New educational Initiatives, funded by a Miami Dade County YEP Grant
  • Commissioned original compositions arising from the story of Martha, Mary and Lazarus of Bethany

Over the years we have explored additional territory:

  • StarBurst Concerts in which incredibly talented young artists participate in professional level events with internationally known musicians
  • Presentations in local schools, work with MDCPS Parent Academy, and free ticket programs for students, teachers, and community organizations
  • Internationally broadcast concerts via YouTube and Facebook
  • A special four-part outdoor (and indoor when weather required) Baroque Jazz Club made possible by Funding Arts Network
  • Full seasons of live and broadcast programming throughout a pandemic, thanks to the flexibility of our Corpus Christi venue and our incredible donor organizations

Our Concerts
Our concerts represent the world of music – designed to give all of our community many genres of music, all by supremely talented artists. We do not guarantee that every audience member will fall in love with every genre – we do promise that everyone will be able to select their favorites by hearing wonderful presentations of each that they can discuss with friends old and new at our after-concert receptions. This season’s concerts continue our goal of diverse programming performed by major artists. See the “Concerts” section of this website.

How to Help Us
The first way to help MMC fulfill our mission is to spread the word about what we do, to as many persons in as many communities as possible. We are happy to email you concert fliers for you to forward to your friends. Please “friend” us on Facebook, and “follow us” on EventBrite and Instagram.

And, of course – all that we do requires funding. We thank all of our sponsors whose funding and encouragement have enabled us to survive and thrive for twenty seasons, including the pandemic years. Now, we ask you to consider supporting us again this year. You can do so with donations – see how to do so, and our special donor thank-you packages, on this website, and remember us on Give Miami Day.
