Brazilian Festival: Thito Camargo Trio & Beatriz Malnic with Adam Lord

Fun for all the Family! Pianist Thito Camargo leads a vibrant celebration showcasing a variety of Brazilian music including Samba, Choró, Bossa-Nova, Baião, and Maracatu. Thito’s arrangements seamlessly blend modernity with tradition, including renowned Brazilian composers like Antonio Carlos Jobim and Pixinguinha, plus Thito’s own compositions.

The Thito Camargo Trio features renowned pandeiro master Brian Potts, founder of batacuda group Miamibloco, and three-time National Young Arts Foundation winner, bassist Michael Ramos.” Best Brazilian Singer Living in the US” (Brazilian Press Awards) Beatriz Malnic joins them with her acclaimed interpretations of bossa novas and sambas.

Plus! MMC’s “Starburst Artist” of the year, UM Frost School’s saxophonist Adam Lord, who has already founded the band Fusillade and whose debut EP will be released this year. MMC is thrilled to give him this star-studded sendoff as he begins his career.

Spanish Brass Holiday Concert

The incredible Spanish Brass quintet returns to MMC after many, many audience requests. Their special Holiday Program caps thirty-five years of the great friendship that has resulted in some of the world’s best brass musicianship – and they are expanding that program for our special Miami audience.

In 2020, the group received the National Music Prize from Spain’s Ministry of Culture – the country’s highest musical honor. This is the culmination of many years of major awards – see more on SpanishBrass.com.

Affinitas Trio: Featuring violinist Gary Levinson, pianist Paul Posnak & cellist Wendy Sutter

Three renowned musicians of international stature in a unique program specially selected for our venue and audience. Featured works include Beethoven’s “Trio, Opus 11” displaying the young composer’s exuberance and melodic beauty; Ravel’s “Sonata for Violin and Cello,” perhaps the greatest work ever written for these two instruments; Joaquin Turina’s “Trio in B Minor” filled with the jota, bolero and flamenco that define Spanish musical culture; and works reflecting Lecuona’s Cuban soul. Every note will be played with finesse, refinement and the contagious joy that is created only by the finest artists who truly love working with each other.

Great Jazz featuring Nicole Henry with Frost jazz vocal ensembles Frost Extensions and JV1

The national award-winning jazz vocal ensembles Frost Extensions & JV1 from the Frost School of Music are joined by the incredible singer Nicole Henry – a perfect blend for the surround sound of the amazing acoustics of Corpus Christi Church.

This is a familiy-friendly concert – jazz neophytes and afficionados, and those who hesitate to venture into this genre, will find much to enjoy.
